Grilled Fish Stuffed With Sambal

Grilling whole fish and stuffed with sambal paste is very popular in Malaysia. They are great with some steamed rice and perhaps a couple of stir-fried vegetables to complete the meal. For this recipe, I used Tai Snapper; some other good options are Hardtail or mackerel fish. The fish can be pan-fried directly in some oil, or in the banana leaves. I chose the latter because I like the lovely aroma from the banana leaf.

Mango Salsa

The weather was sunny in Vancouver the past few days, so, I managed to do some outdoor grilling. It was great! I made some mango salsa to go with my grilled prawns. The salsa is sweet and a little bit tangy. It complement very well with the lightly seasoned prawns. Do try my mango salsa recipe.

Baked Coconut Buns

One of my favorite treats from childhood! I had decided to recreate these coconut buns with that familiar Malaysian hometown taste that I had experienced when I was younger. Both recipes, for the buns and the coconut filling, can be found on my blog! These coconut buns are perfect on its own, whether for breakfast or even as a light snack! Muah Chee (Glutinous Rice Snack With Peanut & Sugar)

Muah Chee or Glutinous Rice Snack With Peanut & Sugar is a popular Chinese snack. The traditional method for this recipe is to steam the rice flour batter and then kneading them until you have an elastic dough. I have done that several times in the past, but I found a better method from ZaTaYa Zong Han Yummy YouTube channel. All you have to do is mix all the ingredients in a non-stick pan, cook, stir, and knead with a sturdy rubber spatula. That's all there is to it, remember to check out my video and see how I make them.

Grilled Beef Skewers With Pineapple

This is one of my favorite grilled beef kebab recipes, juicy and so tasty. I have adapted the seasoning from the popular Vietnamese Bo Luc Lac or also known as Shaking Beef dish. Check out the video tutorial and learn how to make this yummy beef.

Grilled Chili Lime Crabs

Dungeness crabs are aplenty and are well priced over here in Vancouver now. I bought 2 large size crabs for this fantastic Grilled Chili Lime Crabs recipe. I had the crabs prep by the fishmonger to save time. Back at home, I simply coated the crabs lightly with some peanut oil and off they went to the hot grill. Then, the crabs were taken off the grill, tossed with some chili lime dressing, and placed back on the grill until they are thoroughly cooked. Easy and delicious!

How To Make Kuih Keria (Sweet Potato Doughnuts)

This is a simple and yummy Malaysian doughnut or also known as Kuih Keria. It's made with sweet potato and coated with crystalized sugar and great with coffee or tea.

Green Mango Salad

I have made this salad to go with my lemongrass-roasted chicken. This Thai-Style green mango salad is tangy, spicy, sweet and sour! Brilliant with grilled chicken or any grilled meat and seafood. You should try it out someday. So, meantime enjoy the salad and I shall post the roasted chicken recipe tomorrow.
