Fried Fish Cakes



A while back, I posted a fish paste recipe, now I'll show you how to make them into fish cakes. All you have to do is shape it and deep-fry them until golden in color. Leave them to cool off, after that you can serve it as an appetizer with some chili sauce, or add them into noodles, such as this Cantonese Fried Crispy Noodles.






Fried Fish Cakes

Ingredients

Fish Paste (click here for recipe)
Peanut or Vegetable Oil, for deep-frying

A small round or oval bowl
Plastic Wrap
Cold Water

Method

Place a plastic wrap in a small bowl, fill with fish paste and smooth the top with some water. Remove and continue with the rest of the fish paste.

Heat oil for deep-frying (over medium heat), fry the fish cakes until golden in color. Drain on paper towel, let it cool before slicing.

Makes 4 Fish Cakes
