Kuih Kodok (Deep Fried Banana Fritters)

This is another popular snack in Malaysia and a wonderful recipe on using over ripe bananas. I have added some ground almond into the batter. Well, I just wanted some nutty taste in it. Here is the recipe.

Kuih Kodok (Deep Fried Banana Fritters)

500 g Bananas, peeled
200 g All Purpose Flour, sifted
5 Tbsp Ground Almond
4 Tbsp Sugar
1 Egg, lightly beaten
Oil for deep-frying

Mash the bananas. Then add the flour, ground almond, sugar and egg. Combine well and set the batter aside for 1/2 an hour.

Heat the oil over moderate heat. Scoop some batter with a spoon and deep-fry the batter until golden brown. Drain on paper towel. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Love onde, onde, have to try yours. I was in Penang last year and Rasa Malaysia gave me tips where to eat but never made it due to too many family commitments.

I just made it a couple of hours ago, and it's really exactly what I wanted! If only the bananas I had were sweeter :D They didn't do this recipe justice. Once again, thanks so much!
